What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (B5301 ASPATRIA) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the B5301 Aspatria, from its junction with the entrance track to Pasture Farm, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 450 m.
A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the B5301, A596 Aspatria to Maryport and B5300 Maryport to Silloth.

The Order will come into operation on 14 July 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 day between 0700 and 1800 hours, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
