North Lincolnshire - Multiple Road Traffic Notices
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE M181 AND A1077 TRUNK ROADS (BURRINGHAM ROAD ROUNDABOUT TO A18 FRODINGHAM GRANGE ROUNDABOUT)
(24 HOURS CLEARWAY AND PROHIBITION OF CLASSES OF VEHICLE) ORDER 2026
National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) hereby gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1), 2(2), 4(1) and paragraph 27(1) of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on the M181 and the A1077 Trunk Roads in the District of North Lincolnshire.
The M181/A1077 Motorway from, and including, the new Burringham Road Roundabout northwards to the junction of the A18 Frodingham Grange Roundabout, a distance of approximately 2576 metres, is to have its Special Road status removed under a Partial Revocation Scheme and cease to be motorway.
However, as the highway will remain of motorway standard for some time, this Order, if made, would impose a prohibition of stopping or waiting at any time, on any part of the highway.
It will also prohibit all classes of vehicle currently prohibited on motorways from entering the highway, except for the Brumby Common Lane Roundabout as this will form a crossroad junction with the local road network. This Order would only come into force once the Partial Revocation Scheme is confirmed as made.
A copy of the proposed Order, a plan illustrating the proposal and a statement explaining the Secretary of State’s reasons for proposing to make this Order may be inspected during normal opening hours at North Lincolnshire Council, Civic Centre, Ashby Road, Scunthorpe DN16 1AB.
The documents may also be seen during normal office hours at, or obtained free of charge by application from, the offices of National Highways Limited, 2 City Walk (2nd Floor), Leeds, LS11 9AT, quoting the above Order title.
Any person wishing to make representations or to object to the proposals to make this Order should send a written statement of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Director at the above National Highways Leeds address.
The objection should quote the above Order title and must be received no later than Friday 17 July 2026. Information provided in response to any objections or representations, including personal information, may be subject to publication or disclosure in accordance with the access to information regimes (these are primarily the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA), the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA) and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIR).
