HYSBYSIR drwy hyn fod Cyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Merthyr Tudful, drwy arfer ei bwerau o dan Adrannau 82(2), 83 ac 84 a Rhan IV o Atodlen 9 i Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984 (fel y’i diwygiwyd) (“y Ddeddf”), a phob pwˆer galluogi arall ac ar ôl ymgynghori â Phennaeth yr Heddlu yn unol â Rhan III o Atodlen 9 o’r Ddeddf yn bwriadu gwneud y Gorchymyn a ganlyn, y disgrifir yr effaith gyffredinol isod. Mae hyn yn dilyn canllawiau wedi’u diweddaru gan Lywodraeth Cymru ac ymgynghoriad pellach y Cyngor ar, ac ailasesu, gosod eithriadau i osod terfyn cyflymder ar ffyrdd cyfyngedig yng Nghymru i 20mya.

1. Ni chaiff unrhyw berson beri i unrhyw gerbyd modur gael ei yrru ar gyflymder sy’n fwy na 30 milltir yr awr ar hyd y darnau o ffordd a bennir yn yr atodlen isod.

2. Mae copi o’r dogfennau a adneuwyd, gan gynnwys y Gorchymyn arfaethedig, y Map a’r Datganiad o resymau y Cyngor dros wneud y Gorchymyn, ar gael, yn rhad ac am ddim yng Nghyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Merthyr Tudful, Uned 5, Parc Busnes Triongl, Pentrebach, Merthyr Tudful CF48 4TQ.

3. Rhaid i wrthwynebiadau i’r Gorchymyn ynghyd â’r seiliau y maent yn cael eu gwneud yn ysgrifenedig i’r llofnodwr isod erbyn 17 Gorffennaf 2026.

MERTHYR TYDFIL COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL

ABERDARE ROAD, GEORGETOWN, MERTHYR TYDFIL
(30 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Sections 82(2), 83 and 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) (“the Act”), and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act proposes to make the following Order, the general effect of which is described below. 

This follows the Welsh Government’s updated guidance and the Council’s further consultation on, and reassessment of, the setting of exceptions to the setting of a speed limit on restricted roads in Wales to 20mph.

1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to be driven at a speed in excess of 30 miles per hour along the lengths of road specified in the below schedule.

2. A copy of the deposited documents including the proposed Order, Map and Statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order are available, free of charge at Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, Unit 5, Triangle Business Park, Pentrebach, Merthyr Tydfil, CF48 4TQ.

3. Objections to the Order together with the grounds on which they are made must be made in writing to the undersigned by 17th July 2026.

direction to its junction with the Cyfarthfa Retail Park/Aberdare Road Roundabout
