Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which will be to restrict, temporarily any vehicles from exceeding (1) 20mph on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice. (2) 30mph on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice. (3) 40mph on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services.
The above restrictions are necessary in the interest of public safety and the facilitation of road works as part of the Banwell Bypass and Highway Improvement works being undertaken by North Somerset Council. This order will become operative on the 9 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.
Schedule 1 - Churchill Green, Churchill Church Lane for a distance of approximately 725m.
Schedule 2 - A371 Locking Moor Road, Weston-super-Mare from the junction with Banwell Road to the junction with Summer Lane. A371 Knightcott Road, Banwell from the junction with Summer Lane for a distance of approximately 550m. Well Lane, Banwell between the junctions of Knightcott Road and Knightcott and from its junction with Knightcott for a distance of approximately 50m. Knightcott, Banwell between the two junctions with Well Lane. Wolvershill Road, Banwell from Stonebridge Farm for a distance of approximately 400m northwest. Riverside, Banwell from a point approximately 100m north of Moor Road for a distance of approximately 300m north. A368 Towerhead Road, Banwell from Police House for a distance of approximately 400m east and from Station Road for a distance of approximately 50m west. A368 Station Road, Sandford from Towerhead Road for a distance of approximately 100m. A368 Greenhill Road, Sandford from Greenhill Lane for a distance of approximately 160m east. A368 Dinghurst Road, Churchill for a distance of approximately 75m in each direction from the junction with Hilliers Lane.
Schedule 3 - Churchill Green, Churchill from the junction with Duck Street for a distance of approximately 140m southeast.

Construction of Road Humps, Milton Park Road, Weston-super-Mare
Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in exercise of the powers conferred by section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 (hereinafter called the Act) and of all other enabling powers after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with section 90C (1) of the Act and those bodies or persons prescribed by the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 (hereinafter called ‘the Regulations’) and in accordance with section 90C (2) of the Act intends to construct a raised table and speed cushions at the locations specified in the Schedule to this notice.
(1) Round Top Humps referred to in the Schedule will extend across the whole width of the carriageway and will be 100mm in height and 3.7m long, subject to tolerances in the Regulations. A copy of the plan together with a Statement of the Council's Reasons for proposing to make these changes can be viewed at www.n-somerset.gov.uk/tro or at Weston-super-Mare Library, North Somerset Council, Town Hall, Weston-super-Mare BS23 1UJ.
Should you wish to make any observations on this proposal (whether you support or object to the proposal) you should make them in writing to the address below or at the email address below quoting reference DB/RH/MILTON by 5pm on 19 July 2026. Any objections must specify the grounds on which they are made. All representations received may be considered in public by the council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection.

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:
Elm Tree Road, Locking, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026
Date coming Into Force: 28 August 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to access poles with a hoist. This order will become operative on the 28 August 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order will become operative on the 2 September 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration between 8am and 5pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd for commissioning of new level crossing operating equipment. This order will become operative on the 13 November 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 10 days in duration starting at 11pm on 13 November for 24 hours per day. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
