What is happening?

THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF 
WINDSOR & MAIDENHEAD
 (VARIOUS ROADS, MAIDENHEAD, WINDSOR, ASCOT, 
WRAYSBURY, ETON, WHITE WALTHAM, WALTHAM ST LAWRENCE, 
FIFIELD, WINKFIELD, SUNNINGHILL & DATCHET)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER NO. 2 2026
Notice is hereby given that The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, in accordance with Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in the direction stated along the following lengths of road to enable works to be carried out thereon:

1) A4094 Lower Cookham Road, Maidenhead from its junction with Ray Mill Road East northward to access road into Tudor Court.
2) A4094 Ray Mead Road, Maidenhead from its junction with A40.94 Lower Cookham Road southward to the northern boundary of property known as “The Tower”.
3) B3028 Oldfield Road, Maidenhead from its junction with Kingsquarter southward to its junction with Chauntry Road.
4) Bridge Avenue, Maidenhead for its entire length.
5) Forlease Road, Maidenhead from its junction with Moorbridge Road to its junction with Stafferton Link.
6) York Road, Maidenhead from its junction with Forlease Road to its junctionwith Bridge Avenue.
7) Smithfield Road, Maidenhead for its entire length.
8) Altwood Road, Maidenhead from its junction with Silvertrees Drive to its junction with Bannard Road. 
9) Westborough Road, Maidenhead from the access to All Saints Junior School to its junction with Boyn Hill Road.
10) A308 Osborne Road, Windsor for its entire length.
11) A308 Frances Road, Windsor from its junction with A308 Osborne Road to exit for King Edward VII Hospital.
12) Bolton Road, Windsor at its junction with A308 Osborne Road.
13) Alma Road, Windsor from its junction with A308 Goslar Way southward to the southern boundary of No 42 Alma Road.
14) Clewer Hill Road, Windsor from its junction with Ellison Close westward to western boundary of No 69 Clewer Hill Road.
15) Perrycroft, Windsor from its junction with Clewer Hill Road southward to the northern boundary of No 2 Perrycroft.
16) Chestnut Drive, Windsor for its entire length.
17) St Marks Road, Windsor for its entire length.
18) Wood Close, Windsor for its entire length.
19) A332 Windsor Road, Ascot from the southern rear boundary of No 12 Woodcote Place southward to the southern boundary of property known as “Kenilworth House and Elizabeth House”.
20) B376 Staines Road, Wraysbury from its junction with B3396 Windsor Road southward to its junction with Oast House Close.
21) B376 Windsor Road, Wraysbury from its junction with B3396 Staines Road eastward for a distance of 10 metres.
22) Station Road, Wraysbury from western boundary of No 1 Bowry Drive to its junction with High Street.
23) High Street, Wraysbury for its entire length.
24) Coppermill Road, Wraysbury from its junction with Stanwell Road to its junction with Old Mill Place.
25) A332 Windsor & Eton Relief Road Spur, Eton for their entire lengths.
26) B3022 Slough Road, Eton from its junction with B3026 Keates Lane to its junction with B3026 Pococks Lane.
27) B3024 Broadmoor Road, White Waltham from its junction with Smewins Road to its junction with Downfield Lane.
28) B3024 Littlefield Green, White Waltham from its junction with Church Lane southward to Littlefield Green slip road.
29) School Road, Waltham St Lawrence for its entire length.
30) Baileys Lane, Waltham St Lawrence from its junction with FP 339 to its junction with School Road.
31) Sill Bridge Lane, Waltham St Lawrence from its junction with School Road northward for a distance of 20 metres.
32) B3024 Oakley Green Road, Fifield from its junction with Fifield Lane eastward for a distance for 390 metres.
33) B3024 Forest Green Road, Fifield from its junction with Fifield Lane to access for property known as “Ledger House”.
34) Drift Road, Winkfield from access road for property known as “the Bolt” southward for a distance of 485 metres.
35) School Road, Sunninghill for its entire length.
36) Elm Croft, Datchet for its entire length.

Access will be maintained for residents and businesses affected by this Order
where possible.

The purpose of this proposed Order is to enable works to be executed on the road namely carriageway resurfacing works.

The proposed Order will come into operation on the 13 July 2026 and its maximum duration will be 18 months or until the completion of the works whichever shall be the earlier.

The restrictions contained in the Order shall only apply when the appropriate traffic signs, as prescribed by the Traffic Sign Regulations and General Directions 2016, are in place in the relevant roads to indicate the said restrictions.
