What is happening?

(On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.75) (Part 1) Order 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, and Part IV and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
Effect of the Order: To introduce parking restrictions on the following lengths of roads in the City of Chelmsford as specified below. All measurements are approximate.
1. To introduce ‘No Waiting at Any Time’.

This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 by substituting tile numbers:

Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on Monday 13th July 2026.

Documents can be made available for inspection 8.30am-5.30pm Mon-Thurs and 8.30am-5pm on Friday at Essex County Council, County Hall E block main reception, Market Road, Chelmsford.
The decision regarding the proposed replacement of a section of ‘Permit Holders Only Monday to Saturday 8am-11pm Zone 4’ with ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ on Lady Lane, Chelmsford has been deferred until a later date. If approved, it will be included within Part 2 of this Order.
Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.
