What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily to all traffic: A) UC 827003 (Part), Box; from its junction with UC 846915 for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out mains cable installation works and other associated works. No alternative route is available. 

This Order will come into operation on 20 July 2026 and the closure will be required for 5 days.

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic: B) C184 (Part), Colerne; from its northern junction with UC 827101 to its southern junction with UC 827101 to enable Wessex Water Services Limited to carry out new connection works and other associated works. 

Alternative route via C184 (unaffected length) – Tutton Hill – Market Place – C184 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 30 June 2026 and the closure will be required for 3 days. 

For further information please contact Wessex Water Servies Limited on 0345 600 4600. Orders A) and B) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. 

The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. 

Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING, TAXI RANK CLEARWAYS AND ON STREET PARKING) CONSOLIDATION 2024
(AMENDMENT NO.6) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council proposes to make the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 to amend the following restrictions in the Parishes of North Wiltshire Consolidation Order 2024 by revoking Map Schedule Nos. DJ20 and DK20 dated 15 November 2024 and replacing them by the insertion of revised Map Schedule Nos. DJ20 and DK20 and introducing new Map Schedule Nos. DJ19 and DK19, the effect of which will be as follows: a) To remove No Waiting at any time and replace with Bus Stop Clearway on A4 High Street, Box – south side – from a point at the western boundary of property known as ‘Box Pharmacy’ for a distance of 19 metres in an easterly direction; b) To remove No Waiting Monday to Saturday 8am-6pm and replace with No Waiting at any time on A365 Devizes Road, Box – south side – from a point opposite the boundary between property Nos. 9 and 10 Devizes Road for a distance of 8 metres in a south easterly direction; c) To introduce No Waiting at any time on A365 Devizes Road, Box – north side – from a point at the boundary between property Nos. 9 and 10 Devizes Road for a distance of 8 metres in a south easterly direction; A4 Bath Road, Box – both sides – from the western boundary of property known as ‘Woodlands’ for a distance of 132 metres in a south easterly direction; Church Lane, Box – north east side – from its junction with A4 High Street for a distance of 15 metres in a north westerly direction. 

Deposit copies of the Order, plans and Statement of the Council’s Reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at the offices of Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge during normal office hours. 

Details of the proposed scheme may be seen at Box Library, Valens Terrace SN13 8NT during the hours of 2pm to 4pm Monday, 10am to midday Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, 2pm to 5pm Friday until 20 July 2026.
