NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the following roads/lengths of road in Ampthill:-
a) Dunstable Street at the jct with Woburn Street and Woburn Street at the jct with Dunstable St
b) Saunders Piece from s/o no 19 to jct with Lea Road, Chiltern Close at the jct with Saunders Piece and Queens Road at the jct with Saunders Piece.
c) Queens Road at the jct with Oliver Street and Oliver Street from Houghton Close to jct with Queens Road.
These temporary closures are required to enable gas main replacement work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place on the dates shown below a) From 20 to 31 July 2026 for 24hrs a day
b) From 27 July to 14 August for 24hrs a day
c) From 10 to 28 August for 24hrs a day The roads will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative routes for these closures, where available, are:-
a) Woburn St - B530, A507 Flitwick Rd/Dunstable Street. Dunstable St – Church St,
Ampthill Rd, Flitwick Rd, A507, Flitwick Rd
b) Lea Road, Brinsmade Rd, Church Avenue, Church St, Dunstable St, Baker St

On 16th June 2026 Central Bedfordshire Council made the below named Traffic Regulation Order which has the effect as follows:-
To introduce a 40mph Speed Limit on the following lengths of road in Aspley Guise:-
1. Cranfield Road, from the junction Crabtree Lane and extending in a generally northerly direction for approximately 367 metres.
2. Crabtree Lane, from the junction with Cranfield Road and extending in a southeasterly direction for approximately 100 metres (ending at the south-eastern property boundary of Crab Tree Cottage).

On 16th June 2026 Central Bedfordshire Council made the below named Traffic Regulation Order which has the effect as follows:-
To introduce No waiting at any time on the following lengths of road in Upper Caldecote:-
1. Hitchin Road, east side, from the junction with Manor Place, extending in a northerly direction for approximately 10 metres.
2. Hitchin Road, east side, from the junction with Manor Place, extending in a southerly direction for approximately 10 metres.
3. Manor Place, both sides, from the junction with Hitchin Road, extending in an easterly direction for approximately 10 metres.
4. Manor Place, both sides, from the junction with Manor Place, eastern spur, extending in a westerly direction for approximately 10 metres.
