(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC IN LAYBY) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) has made an Order on the A5 Trunk Road, near High Cross, in Leicestershire, because of safety concerns.
The effect of the Order will be to continue to close the layby adjacent to the A5 southbound carriageway approximately 600 metres northwest of its junction with High Cross Road at High Cross. The layby will be closed for twenty-four hours per day.
The Order will come into force at 13:00 hours on Wednesday 1st July 2026 and will remain in force until the safety concern is resolved or by no later than 13:00 hours on Saturday 20 November 2027, whichever is the sooner.
Vehicles being used in connection with any works being carried out in the layby will be exempt from the closure.
