What is happening?

CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE 
BROADWAY EAST AREA

(i) The City of Newcastle upon Tyne (Waiting Restrictions and On Street Parking Places) Order 2026 (Broadway East Area TROST19) Order 2026

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne propose to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004, and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which would be to vary the City of Newcastle upon Tyne (Waiting Restrictions and On Street Parking Places) Order 2026 ("the 2026 Order").

2. The effect of the proposed Order is to -
(a) introduce no waiting at any time restrictions (double yellow lines) on sections of Links Green;

(b) introduce no waiting and no loading at any time restrictions on a section of Granville Road;

(c) revoke (remove) the existing School Keep Clear markings on a section of the south side of Broadway East, and on a section of the east and south side of Granville Road.

(ii) Proposed Pedestrian Crossing -
Broadway East
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne, in exercise of its powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police proposes to establish a pedestrian crossing at the following location -

Raised Zebra Crossing
Broadway East
The crossing is necessary to facilitate pedestrians crossing Broadway East.
For details of the proposals including a plan showing the affected lengths of highway, a copy of the 2026 Order, the draft variation Order, the map tiles to be revoked and replaced, together with a copy of the statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order, please email a request to traffic.consultation@newcastle.gov.uk

If you wish to object to, or make other representations about, the proposals specified in this Notice or any of its provisions you should send your objection or representation by 17th July 2026 quoting reference TROST19 to Newcastle Parking Services, P.O. Box 2BL, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE99 2BL, or by e-mail to traffic.notices@newcastle.gov.uk.  

Any objection or representation MUST be made in writing and where an objection is made, it must state the grounds of the objection.
