What is happening?
THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD
(NELSON STREET/LAMBTON STREET/A184 WEST CENTRAL ROUTE EXIT SLIP ROAD, GATESHEAD)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that on 24 June 2026 the Borough Council of Gateshead made an Order under section 14(2) 21 day Notice and section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Nelson Street/Lambton Street/A184 West Central Route Exit Slip Road, Gateshead, as set out in the Schedule below.
The Order is required to ease congestion and aid traffic exiting from Trinity Square.
The Order will come into force on 29th June 2026.
The maximum duration of the Order will be 18 months.
During the works all vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along the above road until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs.
