Temporary Traffic Management Order - (Longbridge Road, Barking) (Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2026

Notice Of Intent

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate gas mains replacement works, The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intend to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Tuesday 4 August 2026. The works expected for:
- Gas mains replacement works, to take 18 days to complete. Completion date estimated as Friday 21 August 2026 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 7:00am and 7:00pm.

However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily: -
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on the partial lane closure on Longbridge Road, northeast bound carriageway straight ahead and left turning lane, from the central traffic island at its junction with South Park Drive for a distance of 64.5 metres in a south-westerly direction.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on South Park Drive, northbound carriageway, from its junction with Longbridge Road for a distance of 98 metres in a northerly direction.
- Suspend the Bus stop on South Park Drive, west side, from a point 45 metres north of its junction with Longbridge Road for 19 metres in a northerly direction.
- Introduce a one-way on South Park Drive, southbound carriageway, from a point 98 metres north of its junction with Longbridge Road to its junction with Longbridge Road.

4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:
- Via Longbridge Road (A124), Goodmayes Lane (B177), Green Lane (A1083) and South Park Drive.
