Dagenham - Temporary Road Closure & Traffic Restrictions Due To Sewer Works

Temporary Traffic Management Order - (Academy Way, Dagenham) (Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2026

Notice Of Intent

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate sewer cover and frame replacement in the carriageway; The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intend to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Monday 13 July 2026. The works expected for:
- Sewer cover and frame replacement in the carriageway, to take 1 day to complete. Completion date is estimated as Monday 13 July 2026 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm.

However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily:-
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Academy Way, both sides, from a point 1.2 metres east of the eastern building line of Keele House for 13 metres in an easterly direction.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for resident access) on Academy Way, both sides, from its junction with Scholars Way to a point 14.2 metres east of the eastern building line of Keele House.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for resident access) on Academy Way, both sides, from its junction with Fellowship Close to a point 1.2 metres east of the eastern building line of Keele House.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for resident access) on Fellowship Close, both sides, from its junction with Campus Avenue to its junction with Academy Way.

4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:
- Via Academy Way, Fellowship Close, Campus Avenue, Scholars Way and Vice Versa.
