Notice Of Intent
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate gas mains replacement works, The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intend to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Monday 27 July 2026. The works expected for:
- Gas mains replacement works, to take 22 days to complete. Completion date estimated as Monday 17 August 2026 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 7:00am and 7:00pm.
However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.
3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily:
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Gascoigne Road, both sides, from its junction with The Shaftesburys to its junction with Boundary Road.
4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:
- Via St Pauls Road, Axe Street, Ripple Road (A123), Movers Lane, River Road, Alfreds Way (A13), Beckton Roundabout and Alfreds Way (A13).
- Via Alfreds Way, Movers Lane, Ripple Road (A123) and St Pauls Road.
