CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U4056 NEAR SALTCOATS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable bridge examination works to be carried out to Carleton Railway Bridge (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the U4056 near Saltcoats, from a point approx. 210m north east of its junction with the U4055, extending in a north easterly direction under the railway bridge for approx. 60m.
A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the U4056 and U4055.

The Order will come into operation on 12 July 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 day between 0800 and 1600 hours and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
