What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Alexander Lane, Shenfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Alexander Lane, Shenfield in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Oliver Road for a distance of approximately 225m in a north easterly then north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th July 2026 for 40 days, or where stated on a valid permit (R5001AEN169/TRI/X990 – Advanced Electricity Networks Limited).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while connection works are undertaken by Advanced Electricity Networks Limited.

An alternative route is available via Oliver Road, Chelmsford Road, Alexander Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 1st July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Kings Road/Primrose Hill, Brentwood) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 

Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Kings Road, Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood, from a point approximately 45m north west of its junction with Queens Road for a distance of approximately 105m in a north westerly direction.

2. To temporarily close that length of Primrose Hill, Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Kings Road for a distance of approximately 10m in a north easterly direction. 

The closures are scheduled to commence on 20th July 2026 for 19 days, or where stated on a valid permit (TV001217256_EX-25-014/TV001UKPD217256-EX2501 – Uk Power Distribution Ltd).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Uk Power Distribution Ltd.

An alternative route is available via Kings Road, High Street, Ingrave Road, Queens Road, Coptfold Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 1st July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Dudbrook Road, Navestock) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Dudbrook Road, Navestock in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Princes Road for a distance of approximately 610m in a north easterly direction. 

The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th July 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02231014547 – Tilhill Forestry). 

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while tree cutting works are undertaken by Tilhill Forestry.

An alternative route is available via Dudbrook Road, Navestock Side, Princes Road and vice versa. 

The Order came into effect on 17th June 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Dytchleys Road, Navestock) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Dytchleys Road, Navestock in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Horseman Side to its junction with Coxtie Green Road a distance of approximately 410m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th July 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02231014545 – Tilhill Forestry). 

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. 

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while tree cutting works are undertaken by Tilhill Forestry. An alternative route is available via Tan House Lane, Princes Road, Wheelers Lane, Coxtie Green Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 17th June 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Nine Ashes Road, Blackmore) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Nine Ashes Road, Blackmore in the Borough of Brentwood, from a point approximately 145m north west of its junction with Redrose Lane for a distance of approximately 90m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th July 2026 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WGQNPC9Z – Openreach).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. 

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Nine Ashes Road,The Green, Chelmsford Road, Blackmore Road, Loves Green, Highwood Road, The Causeway, Highwood Road, A414, Rookery Road, Nine Ashes Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 17th June 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Old Road, Navestock) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Old Road, Navestock in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Horseman Side for a distance of approximately 735m in a north westerly then south westerly direction. 

The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th July 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02231014546 – Tilhill Forestry). 

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. 

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while tree cutting works are undertaken by Tilhill Forestry.

An alternative route is via Old Road, Bounce Hill, Sabines Road, Tan House Lane and vice versa. 

The Order came into effect on 17th June 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Ongar Road, Kelvedon Hatch) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Ongar Road, Kelvedon Hatch in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Church Road to its junction with School Road a distance of approximately 125m. 

The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th July 2026 for 1 night (19:00-04:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP10000016917 – Essex County Council). 

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while bollard replacement works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via A128, A1023, A12, A414, A128 and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 24th June 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Weald Road, South Weald) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Weald Road, South Weald in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Bardeswell Close for a distance of approximately 80m in a north westerly direction. 

The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th July 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2401730 – Essex County Council). 

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. 

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while kerbing works are undertaken by Essex County Council. An alternative route is available via Coxtie Green Road, Ongar Road, Western Avenue, Western Road and vice versa (with access only into Weald Road).

The Order came into effect on 17th June 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
