What is happening?

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF RUSKIN CLOSE, CHESHUNT) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Ruskin Close, Cheshunt from its junction with Hammondstreet Road north easwards for a distance of approximately 11m (“the Road”).
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because remedial works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 10 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HIGGINS ROAD, CHESHUNT) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Higgins Road, Cheshunt from its junction with Great Stockwood Road south eastwards to its junction with Littlestock Road, a distance of approximately 75m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Great Stockwood Road, Argent Way and Higgins Way.
The Order is needed because remedial works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 15 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B1038 (UNNAMED ROAD), BUNTINGFORD) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B1038 (unnamed road), Buntingford from its junction with B1368 (unnamed road) eastwards for a distance of approximately 48m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via B1368 (unnamed road/Biggin Hill/ London Road/High Street/Cambridge Road/London Road/High Street), B1039 (Picknage Road/Chishill Road/Barley Road/Hall Lane/ unnamed road/Royston Road/Station Road), B1383 (Mutlow Hill/ London Road/Cambridge Road/Belmont Hill) and B1038 (Wicken Road/Clatterbury Lane/High Street/Pelham Road/unnamed road/ Pump Hill/Conduit Lane/unnamed road).
The Order is needed because water connection works are proposed
to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 13 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months.
The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF COLD CHRISTMAS LANE, THUNDRIDGE) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Cold Christmas Lane, Thundridge from a point 300m south west of its junction with Kettle Green Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 250m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Cold Christmas Lane, C39 (unnamed road), Gore Lane, Ermine Street, High Road, Cambridge Road and Cold Christmas Lane.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 13 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Cecil Road, Waltham Cross from its junction with B176 Crossbrook Street eastwards to its junction with Burleigh Road, a distance of approximately 60m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via B176 Crossbrook Street, Limes Road, Springfield Road and Cecil Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 13 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE BUS/CYCLE LANE SITUATED ON THE EAST SIDE OF B176 TURNERS HILL, CHESHUNT) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all public service vehicles and pedal cycles from using the bus/cycle lane situated on the east side of B176 Turners Hill, Cheshunt from a point 94 metres south east of its junction with Windmill Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 88m (“the Bus/Cycle Lane”).
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The definition of a ‘public service vehicle’ has the same meaning as in Section 1 of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981. The definition of a ‘pedal cycle’ means a cycle powered only by foot or hand. The definition of a ‘pedal cycle’ means a cycle powered only by foot or hand.
The Order is needed because gas connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Bus/Cycle Lane.
