(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Sharpenhoe Road, Streatley outside The Old Chapel.
This temporary closure is required to enable meter exchange works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing. It is expected that the works will take place on 20 July between the hours 0900-1600.The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route will be via Sharpenhoe Rd, Church Rd, A6 and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 20 July 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(PIPERS LANE, ALEY GREEN)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Pipers Lane, Aley Green outside Hilltop farm.
This temporary closure is required to enable new water connection work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 23 to 29 July 2026..The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure will be via Millfield Lane, Dunstable Rd, Mancroft Rd and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 23 July 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Streatley Road, Sundon outside School House.
This temporary closure is required to enable meter exchange works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place on 7 July between the hours 0900 and 1530 The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Manor Rd, Church Rd, Harlington Rd and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 7 July 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Dunstable Road, Studham outside number 248
This temporary closure is required to enable water mains repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 6 to 8 July. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via B4540, Byslips Rd, Dunstable Rd and vice versa.

On 16th June 2026 Central Bedfordshire Council made the above named Traffic Regulation Order which has the effect as follows:-
To introduce a 30mph Speed Limit on the following lengths of road in Sundon:-
1. Sundon Road, from a point approximately 110 metres northeast of the northeastern flank wall belonging to the property Lodge Farm and extending southwest before following the curvature of the road northwest for a total of approximately 498 metres, ending at the western end of the railway bridge.
To introduce a 30mph speed limit on the following length of road in Chalton:-
1. Sundon Road, from a point approximately 383 southwest of the western Luton Road/Chalton Road roundabout and continuing southwest for a further 115 metres up to the Sundon Road/Chantry Way/Waterslade Way roundabout.

To de-restrict the following lengths of road in Chalton so that they revert to the National Speed Limit:-
1. Sundon Road, starting at the western end of the railway bridge and extending west for approximately 45 metres, up to the eastern Luton Road/Chalton Road roundabout.
2. The full extent of the eastern Luton Road/Chalton Road roundabout.

1. Green Lane Footway, east side, from a point approximately 3.5 metres northeast of a point in line with the common property of No.9 and No.11 Green Lane, extending south-west, covering an area approximately 6.6 metres in length and 3 metres in width.
