What is happening?

Central Bedfordshire Council

To introduce No Stopping on School Entrance Markings from Monday to Friday between 8.00am and 4.30pm on the following length of road in Dunstable:-

1.  Oakwood Avenue, north-west side, from a point approxiately 2 metres north-east of Lamp Column No. 16 (where the exisitng School Keep Clear Markings begin) and extending in a south-westerly direction for a distance of approximately 31.5 metres.

Order Title:- Central Bedfordshire Council (Bedfordshire County Council (District of South Bedfordshire) (Civil Enforcement Area and Special Enforcement Area) (Waiting Restrictions and Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2008) (Variation No.27) Order 2026 Date of Operation:- The Order will come into operation on the 1st July 2026.

Please Note:- The restrictions introduced by this Order have been in operation on site for some time under previous provisions. However, it has been identified that an error occurred in the original Order, and as such, this Order is being re-made to accurately reflect and formalise the restrictions as they currently exist on site. There is no change to the extent or effect of the restrictions previously in force.

High Court Challenge:- Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the ground that any requirement of that Section had not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of 16th June 2026, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL – NOTICE OF MAKING OLDHILL, DUNSTABLE – NO WAITING AT ANY TIME

On 16th June 2026 Central Bedfordshire Council made the below named Traffic Regulation Order which has the effect as follows:-

To introduce No Waiting at any time on the following length of road in Dunstable:-

1. Oldhill, western side, from the south-eastern edge of the dropped kerb belonging to No. 4 Oldhill and extending in a south-easterly direction and then following the curvature of the kerb south-west for approximately 50 metres, ending at a point in line with the property boundary between No. 4 and No. 6 Oldhill.

2. Oldhill, eastern side, from the north-western edge of the dropped kerb belonging to No. 3 Oldhill and extending in a north-westerly direction and then following the curvature of the kerb south-west for approximately 45 metres, ending at a point in line with the property boundary between No. 3 and No. 5 Oldhill.

WAITING RESTRICTIONS

On 16th June 2026 Central Bedfordshire Council made the below named Traffic

Regulation Order which has the effect as follows:-

To introduce No Waiting at any time on the following lengths of road in Dunstable: -

1. Chiltern Road, east side, from the junction with Nursery Close and extending in a northerly direction for approximately 14 metres, to a point in line with the south end of the H bar across No.154s dropped kerb.

2. Chiltern Road, east side, from the junction with Nursery Close and extending in a southerly direction for approximately 14 metres, to the boundary fence between No.158A and No.160.

3. Nursery Close, both sides, from the junction with Chiltern Road and extending in an easterly direction for approximately 8 metres into the junction.
