ORDER 2026
On 8 June 2026 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on new traffic signal installation) on Forest Road, Cumbernauld from Blackthorn Roundabout to Esso Garage Exit by reason of works being executed on or near that location.
Alternative routes: Westbound Closure – Vehicles will be diverted via Redwood Road and Forest Road
Eastbound Closure – Vehicles will be diverted via Forest Road, Redwood Road and Blackthorn Roundabout
Pedestrian access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure. Vehicular access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.
The Order, which will be completed in 2 phases, will come into operation at 0600 hours on Wednesday, 24 June 2026 and will remain in operation until 1800 hours on Wednesday, 1 July 2026.
