What is happening?

CITY OF WESTMINSTER
INVERNESS TERRACE, PORCHESTER GARDENS, QUEENSWAY, REDAN PLACE AND WESTBOURNE GROVE

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council proposes to make the following Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended:

• The City of Westminster (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (Amendment No.*) Order 202*;

• The City of Westminster (Motorcycle Parking Places)(Amendment No. *) Order 202*;

• The City of Westminster (Parking Places) (B Zone)(Amendment No. *) Order 202*;

• The City of Westminster (Taxi Rank) (Amendment No. *) Order 202*; and

• The City of Westminster. (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No.*) Order 202*.

2. The general effect of the Orders would be to:

(a) on Inverness Terrace:

(i) introduce a “Blue Badge” disabled persons’ parking place (5 metres) on the west side, outside Nos. 1 - 19 Cervantes Court, replacing one residents’ parking space; and

(ii) introduce a motorcycle parking place (6 metres) on the east side, towards its junction with Porchester Gardens and adjacent to the Kensington Tennis Club, replacing one residents’ parking space;

(b) on Porchester Gardens, introduce “at any time” loading restrictions (6.1 metres) on the north side, adjacent to The Whiteley, at its junction with Queensway;

(c) on Queensway:

(i) introduce a taxi rank (17.8 metres) on the west side, opposite Nos. 148 to 158;

(ii) introduce 19.3 metres of loading restrictions on the west side, adjacent to No. 1 Westbourne Grove and outside No. 169 Queensway, operating between 7.30 a.m. and 10.00 a.m. and between 4.00 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays;

(iii) introduce “at any time” loading restrictions:

(A) on the east side, from its junction with Bishop’s Bridge Road extending 58.5 metres southward;

(B) on the west side, at its junction with Westbourne Grove;

(C) on the west side, from its junction with Redan Place extending 37.4 metres southward; and

(D) on lengths of the west side, from the southern end of the taxi rank referred to in paragraph (i) above to its junction with the northern kerb-line of Porchester Gardens, except where a bus stop clearway and pedestrian crossing would be provided (as described in paragraphs 3 and 4 below);

(d) on Redan Place, introduce “at any time” loading restrictions on both sides, at its junction with Queensway; and

(e) on Westbourne Grove, introduce “at any time” loading restrictions on the south side,at its junction with Queensway.

3. Please note that, as part of the public realm improvements, a bus stop clearway would be introduced on the west side of Queensway, opposite Nos. 120 and 122.

4. FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council, in accordance with the provisions of section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, intends to realign the pedestrian crossing located outside Nos. 138 to 142 Queensway and extend the associated zig-zag markings to 17.4 metres on the southern approach and 4.9 metres on the northern approach.

5. The proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection until six weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Orders are made or the Council decides not to make the Orders at https:// westminstertransportationservices.co.uk/notices and, in person by appointment only, at Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6QP, between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays (except bank/public holidays). 7. Any objections or other representations about the proposals should be sent in writing to the Council’s agents, WSP Traffic Order Team, 3rd Floor, Westferry House, 11 Westferry Circus, London, E14 4HD, or by email to tmo.westminster@wsp.com quoting reference 8225/HWB, by 15th July 2026. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
