What is happening?

BIRMINGHAM CITY COUNCIL
(SPEEDWELL ROAD, TYSELEY & HAY MILLS – 17120897 COVENTRY ROAD, SHELDON – 17137488) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that Birmingham City Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order the effect of which will be:

• to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in either direction along SPEEDWELL ROAD between its junction with Amington Road and its junction with Kings Road.

• to prohibit any vehicle from entering HOBS MOATS ROAD at its junction with Coventry Road.

• to prohibit any vehicle from entering SHEAF LANE its junction with Coventry Road.

The temporary Order is required to enable highway maintenance works to be carried out in safety.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by this Order will be signed on site and access to frontages will be maintained as necessary.

These prohibitions shall apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

The Order will come into operation on Saturday 4th July 2026 will remain in force for a period of 18 months or until the works are completed whichever is the earlier.
