The Hammersmith & Fulham (Chiswick Mall) (Parklet)(Experimental) Order 2026

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, made the abovementioned Orders under the powers granted by sections 9 and 10 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order will come into force on 1st July 2026 and may continue in force for up to 18 months.

2. The general effect of the Order will be, on an experimental basis, to remove 10.0 metres of a shared use parking place on the north side of Chiswick Mall, from a point 4.0 metres west of the western kerb line of Eyot Gardens, westward for a distance of 10.0 metres, to facilitate the installation of a parklet.

3. For a period of 6 weeks from the day on which the Orders are made, a copy of all Orders and a copy of the Councils statement of reasons for making the Orders and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders can be inspected during normal office hours by contacting Parking Services, The Place Department, Town Hall, King Street, Hammersmith, W6 9JU or by requesting a copy via email to Traffic. Orders@lbhf.gov.uk

4. The Council will consider in due course whether the provisions of the Orders should be continued in force indefinitely by means of permanent Orders made under sections 6, 45 and 46 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Any person may object to the making of the permanent Orders within a period of six months beginning with the date on which the experimental Orders come into force or, if the Orders are varied by another Order or modified pursuant to section 10(2) of the 1984 Act, beginning with the date on which the variation or modification or the latest variation or modification comes into force. Any such objection must be made in writing and must state the grounds on which it is made and be sent to Parking Services, The Place Department, Town Hall, King Street, Hammersmith, W6 9JU or via email to Traffic.Orders@ lbhf.gov.uk.

5. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or any of the provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
