What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: Section 14 - Temporary Closure Of Part Of The B1075 Princes Street, Ipswich
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the B1075 Princes Street, Ipswich from Civic Drive to Friars Street eastbound only to facilitate a water stop tap replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:
- Northbound - Civic Drive, Elm Street, Museum Street and no vice versa.
- Southbound - Franciscan Way, Greyfriars Road, Bridge Street, Greyfriars Road, Franciscan Way, Civic Drive, Elm Street, Museum Street and no vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 7:00pm on 23/06/2026 – 6:00am on 24/06/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U4726 Green Hill, Coddenham
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U4726 Green Hill, Coddenham from no. 11 to property Fawn Ridge to facilitate water chamber, cover and frame works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Lower Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 23/06/2026 - 24/06/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U2103 Hacheston Road, Easton
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U2103 Hacheston Road, Easton from 100 metres east of the junction with The Street for 30 metres eastbound to facilitate the removal and replacement of overhead lines and cables. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be The Street, Framlingham Road, Dark Lane, the B1116 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 23/06/2026 - 24/06/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The C325 Lodge Road, Great Bealings
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C325 Lodge Road, Great Bealings from the junction with Rosery Lane to Grotto Farm to facilitate investigation of telecoms pole. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be The Street, Station Road, Hall Road Little Bealings, Hall Road Kesgrave, the A1214, the A12, the B1079, the C324 Hasketon and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 23/06/2026 from 10:00am – 3:00pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Bridleway 8, Waldringfield
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing Bridleway 8, Waldringfield to facilitate safety during earth works to create a suitable alternative natural green space. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
The diversion route will be shown on site.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 02/07/2026 - 30/07/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 6 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (BOROUGH OF IPSWICH) - (Stopping, Waiting And Loading Prohibitions And Restrictions And On-Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2019 (Borough Of Ipswich) (Various Roads) (Prohibition And Restriction Of Waiting) (Variation No.51) Order 202-
Suffolk County Council proposes to make the above order under Sections 1(1) and (2), 2(1) to (3), 4(2) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which would substitute revision 2 of Map Tile G0124 in place of revision 1 of the same Map Tile, into the above-named 2019 order. The effect of this would be to introduce:

‘No waiting at any time’ on:
- Both sides of Toller Road, Ipswich (U2009), for the entire length which is approximately 88 metres. Remove limited waiting approx. 15 metres both sides at its junction with Cliff Road (B1458).

- East side of Cliff Road, Ipswich (B1458), from the centre of the junction with Toller Road, for approximately 50 metres in a southerly direction.

- West side of Cliff Road, Ipswich (B1458), at a point 15 metres north of its junction with Toller Road for a distance of 15 metres.

- Both sides of Ship Launch Road, Ipswich (U2007), from its junction with Cliff Road to a point 10 metres east of its junction with Heleana Road, a distance of approximately 93 metres.

- West side of Cliff Road, Ipswich (B1458), across the junction of Ship Launch Road, starting 9.5 metres south of the centre of the junction and then going north for a distance of 18 metres.

- East side of Cliff Road, Ipswich (B1458), from opposite Ship Launch Road for a distance of 5.5 metres, at the southern side of the access to a private property.

Exemptions to the waiting restrictions allow a vehicle to wait for so long as is necessary to board or alight or to load and unload for building, industrial or demolition works; for emergency services; for the maintenance of the road or its services; and for fulfilling statutory duties. There are the usual exemptions for Blue Badge holders.

Copies of the draft order, map showing the roads affected and the council’s reasons for the proposals, may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9:00am – 5:00pm Monday - Friday; also at: Ipswich County Library, Northgate Street, Ipswich, IP1 3DE, during Monday: 9:00am – 6:00pm, Tuesday: 9:00am – 7:00pm, Wednesday: 9:00am – 6:00pm, Thursday: 9:00am – 6:00pm, Friday: 9:00am – 7:00pm, Saturday: 8:30am – 5:00pm and Sunday: 10:00am – 4:00pm.
