What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
PART OF TIBTHORPE ROAD, HUGGATE

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order
the effect of which is to prohibit any person from
causing any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along
part of Tibthorpe Road, Huggate from its junction
with Driffield Road, Huggate heading east along North
Dalton Road onto Huggate Road, North Dalton left
onto Main Street, North Dalton continuing along B1246
Driffield Road, Bainton left at Bainton Roundabout,
Kirkburn north along B1248 Bainton Road, Tibthorpe
east onto Main Street, Tibthorpe onto Huggate Road,
Tibthorpe commencing 13 July 2026 between
07.00 hours and 16.00 hours.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
Part of Tibthorpe Road, Huggate carriageway
maintenance works to be carried out and completed
in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of
the public. It is anticipated that the works will be
completed within one day. The alternative route for
traffic affected by the Order is via Driffield Road,
Huggate heading east along North Dalton Road onto
Huggate Road, North Dalton left onto Main Street,
North Dalton continuing along B1246 Driffield Road,
Bainton left at Bainton Roundabout, Kirkburn north
along B1248 Bainton Road, Tibthorpe and east onto
Main Street, Tibthorpe onto Huggate Road, Tibthorpe,
Huggate CP, Warter CP, North Dalton CP, Bainton
CP, Tibthorpe CP, Driffield and Rural Ward, Wolds
Weighton Ward.
The road will be closed to all traffic but access will
be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and
pedestrians.
The Order will commence 13 July 2026 and continue
in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months
or until the works which it is proposed to carry out
have been completed, whichever is the earlier. Further
