Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will
be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along
The Bence, Bishop Wilton from its junction with
Garrowby Hill A166 onto the A166 York Road heading
east onto Fridaythorpe Road and along Main Road,
Millington commencing 20 July 2026 at 08.00 hours
until 24 July 2026 at 17.00 hours to install ducting
and chambers for the new BDUK fibre network on
behalf of Quickline Communications works for
The Bence, Bishop Wilton.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring
the safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18
months, but it is anticipated that the works will be
completed within five days. The alternative route for
traffic affected by the road closure will be via Garrowby
Hill A166 onto A166 York Road heading east onto
Fridaythorpe Road and along Main Road, Millington.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all through
traffic but access will be maintained for residents,
emergency vehicles and pedestrians.
