WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (STANK LANE, BARROW IN FURNESS) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of Stank Lane, from its junction with Hard Knotts Lane, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 150 metres. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the Hard Knotts Lane, Ulverston Road, Long Lane, Newton Road and the unrestricted section of Stank Lane.

The Order will come into operation on 6th July 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months.
