TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC150905417: The City of Manchester (City Link Footpath, Ancoats & Beswick Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrian Traffic) Order 2026 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit pedestrian traffic on City Link Footpath.
The alternative routes for pedestrian traffic will be: Ashton New Road to Rowsley Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate metrolink works at The Etihad. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 6th July 2026 to 16th August 2026.
The order shall come into operation on 6th July 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of six months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
