What is happening?
(The Street and New Lane, Alveston) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with wall repair works.
The order became operative from 29 June 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closures however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 month duration.
SCHEDULE The Street – from New Lane eastwards for 25m and westwards for 25m; New Lane – from The Street northwards for 25m.
Alternative route: A38, Itchington Road and vice versa.
(Berwick Lane, Hallen) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Berwick Lane which extends from a point 500m north east of Severn Road north eastwards for 50m.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon new water supply connection works on or adjacent to the highway.
The order became operative from 29 June 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration.
Alternative route: Berwick Lane (parts unaffected), Bowstreet Lane, Blackhorse Hill, Cribbs Causeway, Station Road, Hallen Road and vice versa.
(The Limes, Badminton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of The Limes which extends from Luckington Lane to School Lane.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with new water connection works.
The order became operative from 1 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration.
Alternative route: Old Sodbury Road, Malmesbury Road, Tetbury Road, A46 Stroud Road and vice versa.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon removal of signal junction and road marking changes works. The order became operative from 3 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closures however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 nights duration, between 8pm and 6am.

(Iron Acton Way, Yate) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers that length of Iron Acton Way footway which extends from North Road to Armstrong Way roundabout.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon construction works.
The order became operative from 29 June 2026 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 week duration.
Alternative route: Armstrong Way, North Road and vice versa.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Footpath and Cyclepath New Road which extends from a point 95m south west of Hatchet Road south westwards for 33m.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon new crossing works.
The order will be operative from 20 July 2026 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 months duration.
Alternative route: Traffic signalled crossing point onto Brierly Furlong, footway adjacent to Brierly Furlong, traffic signalled crossing point onto New Road, Foot and Cyclepath New Road (part unaffected).
(Yew Tree Farm Lane, Oldbury-on-Severn)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Yew Tree Farm Lane which extends from Kington Lane north eastwards for 190m.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon pole replacement works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 22 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration, between 8am and 6pm.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Sweetwater Lane which extends from Redhill Lane north eastwards for 480m.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon pole replacement works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 22 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration, between 8am and 6pm.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Upper Tockington Road which extends from a point 150m west of Washingpool Hill Road westwards for 80m.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with new gas services works. The order will be operative from 24 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 week duration.
Alternative route: Upper Tockington Road, Washingpool Hill Road, Old Down Hill, Haw Lane and vice versa.

(Temporary 20 mph Speed Limit) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to:-
a) prohibit, temporarily, any vehicle proceeding at a speed in excess of 20 miles per hour in the length of road specified in the Schedule to this notice; and b) suspend, temporarily, the South Gloucestershire Council (A38 Gloucester Road North, Filton) (Restricted Roads) (40 mph Speed Limit) Order 2014 in so far as it relates to the length of road specified in the Schedule to this notice, for the duration of the order.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon bridge repair works. The order will be operative from 25 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The restriction however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 months duration.
SCHEDULE A38 Gloucester Road and A38 Gloucester Road North – that length which extends from a point 75m south of Hayes Way southwards for 415m (whole length of flyover).
(Public Footpath OCH/11, Charfield)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the above order, made by South Gloucestershire District Council on 18 December 2024, has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 6 July 2027 or until such time as the works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
The effect of the order has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers the entire length of Public Footpath OCH/11.
This order was required in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon Charfield Station construction works and would have expired on 6 July 2026.
Alternative Route: Follow signed diversion.

(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the above order, made by South Gloucestershire District Council on 7 January 2026, has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 9 January 2027 or until such time as the works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
The effect of the order has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers that length of Bradley Stoke Way which extends from Savages Wood Roundabout to Patchway Brook Roundabout. This order was required in connection with CRSTS active travel works and would have expired on 9 July 2026.
Alternative Route: Brook Way, Savages Wood Road, and vice versa
