THE BOROUGH OF BLACKPOOL
(MONTPELIER AVENUE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Blackpool Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers to facilitate carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing. The effect of the Order will be to:
(a) Prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding in any direction along the length of Montpelier Avenue between its junction with Beaufort Avenue and its junction with A584 Queens Promenade.
(b) Prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding in any direction along the length of Montpelier Avenue between its junction with Red Bank Road and its junction with Beaufort Avenue.
(c) No left or right turn from Rivington Avenue on to Montpelier Avenue.
(d) No left or right turn from Davenport Avenue on to Montpelier Avenue.
(e) No left or right turn from Waller Avenue on to Montpelier Avenue.
(f) No left or right turn from Caxton Avenue on to Montpelier Avenue.
(g) No left or right turn from the gated alleyway situated between Rivington Avenue and Red Bank Road on to Montpelier Avenue.
(h) No left or right turn from the unnamed alleyway situated between no. 37 and no. 35 Montpelier Avenue on to Montpelier Avenue.
Pedestrian access to premises will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access will be maintained wherever possible. All diversion routes will be clearly signed and maintained on site.
The proposed Order will commence on 13 July 2026 and continue in force for eighteen months or until the sooner completion of the aforesaid works. It is expected that the works will take 20 days.
