(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2026

The Scottish Borders Council (B709 Traquair, Innerleithen) (Temporary Closing) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 26 June 2026 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of one day between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30. The Order is required for BT Openreach works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the B709 south of Traquair Village, Innerleithen.

The alternative route for northbound traffic is via the B709, A708, A707, A72 and B709 to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

To do this, please contact your nearest library to book time on a personal computer.
