THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF ST. HELENS
(CARR MILL ROAD, ST HELENS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, ORDER 2026)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 4th day of June, 2026, the St. Helens Borough Council made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as Amended), the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit a vehicle proceed in either direction along Carr Mill Road between A580 East Lancashire Road and Laffak Road, as and when directed by road traffic signs on-site.
The Order will come into force on Monday 14th September 2026, and will have a maximum duration of eighteen months, but will terminate on completion of the works, which is expected to take 16 days. The alternative route will be via A580 East Lancashire Road, A571 Green Leach Lane, Woodlands Road and vice versa.
The reason for making this Order is to facilitate the installation of a new water main.
