(SHEEPFOOT LANE, PRESTWICH) (RACE FOR LIFE EVENT 2026) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because of the likelihood of danger to the public during the holding of the Race for Life Event at Heaton Park, the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intends in not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, to make an Order the effect of which will be:-

1. To introduce a temporary prohibition of waiting in the following length of roads specified in column 2 during the dates and times specified in column 1 in the Schedule below:

From 08:00hrs 03/07/2026 to 14:00hrs 05/07/2026 Sheepfoot Lane, Prestwich – south easterly side, between Beechwood Avenue and Edgeware Avenue

2. The proposed Order shall come into operation on 03/07/2026 and will remain in force on Sunday 05/07/2026 until completion of the event.

3. If there are safety concerns, the restrictions may remain in place longer than specified above.

4. The restrictions will only have effect at such times and to such extent as indicated by the display of traffic signs and/or notices. Nothing in this notice will apply to emergency vehicles, any vehicle displaying a valid cancer research UK car parking permit on behalf of the Council for the Race for Life event at Heaton Park and any vehicle engaged in the implementation, removal or enforcement of the restrictions introduced pursuant to this notice.
