(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026
On 22 June 2026 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on facilitating of puffin upgrade works and associated footway/carriageway resurfacing) on the undernoted roads by reason of works being executed on or near that location.
Road Closures
Phase 1 & 3
Eglinton Street, Coatbridge (private road) at its junction with Kildonan Street to approx. 5m northwards or thereby
Phase 2
Eglinton Street, Coatbridge (private road) at its junction with Kildonan Street to approx. 5m northwards or thereby
Park Street North, Coatbridge (private road) at its junction with Kildonan Street to approx. 5m northwards or thereby
Portland Street, Coatbridge at its junction with Kildonan Street to approx. 5m northwards or thereby
Phase 4
Eglinton Street, Coatbridge (private road) at its junction with Kildonan Street to approx. 5m northwards or thereby
Park Street South, Coatbridge at its junction with Kildonan Street to approx. 5m northwards or thereby
Phase 5
Kildonan Street, Coatbridge from Portland Street to Dunbeth Road B804
Alternative routes:
Phase 1 & 3 – via Laird Street; Portland Street; Kildonan Street
Phase 2 – via Kildonan Street; Dunbeth Road B804, Portland Street via Laird Street
Phase 4 – Eglinton Street: via Laird Street; Portland Street; Kildonan Street Park Street South: via Kildonan Street, Lavelle Drive, Muiryhall Street East
Phase 5 – via Dunbeth Road (B804); Laird Street; Portland Street Pedestrian access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.
Vehicular access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.
One way system in force on Eglinton Street & Park Street to be revoked by New College Lanarkshire to facilitate access/egress via same road
The Order, will come into operation at 00:01 hours on 29 June 2026 and will remain in operation until 23:59 hours on Tuesday 11 August 2026.
