What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (FOOTPATH 50, HAZEL GROVE AND BRAMHALL NO.3) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) NOTICE 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Closure of the complete length of Footpath 50 Hazel Grove and Bramhall between Bramhall Park Road and Footpath 51 HGB, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said footpath. This Order is necessary to allow for works to be conducted by Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council contractors. It is estimated that the maximum duration of the works will be 6 months. A diversion will be provided from the western end of Footpath 50 HGB north on Footpath 51 HGB to Linney Road, then east to Bramhall Park Road, and then south to the eastern end of Footpath 50 HGB. This Order is to come into operation on 25 July 2026 and will have effect for six months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
