Herefordshire - Temporary Road Closure Due To Bridge Underside Inspection Works

Notice of Intention

NOTICE is hereby given that Herefordshire Council, as highway authority, intend, under its relevant powers, to make the following Order: A465 From Prow Footpath KD3 To Gwent Boundary, Pontrilas, Temporary Road Closure Order, to temporarily prohibit the use by vehicles on the A465 From Prow Footpath KD3 To Gwent Boundary, Pontrilas, at the railway bridge. Grid Ref: 339703/227113.

The alternative route for those affected by the proposal is via the A49 onto the A40 and vice versa. The said closure is required due to bridge underside inspection works and the likelihood of danger to the public whilst the works are taking place. The said closure will come into force on 13th of July 2026 and remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months (unless extended with the consent of the Secretary of State) but the works are expected to be completed within 1 night (22.00-06.00hrs).
