What is happening?

WARRINGTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, in not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, the Council intends to make Orders under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Hobb Ln, Appleton (Prohibition of Driving)

Temporary Order 2026

The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Hobb Ln from its jct. with Chester Rd to the Borough Boundary with Halton. The Order will be effective from 8th July 2026 for 1 week. The alternative route will be via Chester Rd, Runcorn Rd & vice versa. The closure is required to allow United Utilities to install new service connections.

New Cut Ln & Hawthorne Ave

(Prohibition of Driving & Clearway)

Temporary Order 2026

The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway as follows: New Cut Ln from its jct. with A57 Manchester Rd for 100m; Hawthorne Ave from its jct. with New Cut Ln for 50m. The Order will be effective from 3rd August 2026 for 4 weeks, between 8pm & 2am. The restrictions are required for carriageway resurfacing.

Derek Ave (Prohibition of Driving)

Temporary Order 2026

The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Derek Ave from its jct. with Poplars Ave to its jct. with Harding Ave. The Order will be effective from 22nd June 2026 for 3 weeks. The alternative route will be via Poplars Ave, Martin Ave, Harding Ave & vice versa. The closure is required to allow Cadent to carry out Gas Mains Replacement work.

Farnworth Rd, Penketh & Cuerdley

(Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2026

The effect of this is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Farnworth Rd (westbound) from its jct. with Greenall Ave to its jct. with Widnes Rd. The Order will be effective from 24th June 2026 for 1 week. The alternative route will be via Warrington Rd, Penketh Rd, Warrington Rd & Widnes Rd. The closure is required to allow Vodafone to install a new 5G mast.

The temporary restrictions will be in place as & when the signs are in place on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.
