PUBLIC FOOTPATHS 18 & 20 UPSALL
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2026
The above order made on 4/6/26 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will extinguish part of footpath 20 Upsall which commences at OS Grid Reference NZ 5528 1671 (point A on the order plan) and proceed in a generally north-easterly direction for approximately 130 metres along the track and in front of Rose Cottage to enter the woodland at OS Grid Reference NZ 5539 1677 (point B on the order plan)The total length of the existing said footpath is approximately 130 metres.
The above order will also extinguish part of footpath 18 Upsall which commences at OS Grid Reference NZ 5527 1664 (point C on the order plan) and proceed in an easterly direction for approximately 78 metres from Flatts Lane road to OS Grid Reference 5533 1664 (point D on the order plan). The total length of the existing said footpath is approximately 78 metres.
An alternative footpath will be created, being 1.5 metres in width, which commences on Flatts Lane road at OS Grid Reference NZ 5528 1671 (point A on the order plan) heading south into the woodland to meet existing footpath 18 Upsall at OS Grid Reference NZ 5533 1664 (point D on the order plan). The total length of the said proposed new footpath is approximately 105 metres.

Any representations about or objections to the order must be made in writing to Public Rights of Way Officer, Kirkleatham Museum, Kirkleatham, Redcar, TS10 5NW, or by email to CountrysideTeam@redcar-cleveland.gov.uk, quoting reference PROW/122/20/1, to be received not later than 21/7/26. Please state the grounds on which any objections are made.
Please note that the substance of any objection, or comment, and the writer’s details, may be made available to third parties.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State, Department of Environment Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation, any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
