Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Oxford, East Street, Osney

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 22/6/2026

Coming into force: 29/6/2026

This Order is being introduced because of sewer repairs which are anticipated to take until 7/7/2026 to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the length of East Street outside No.1. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Bridge St, North St, East St, South St, and vice versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T7913/JP)

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for through traffic is via Green Road, Quarry Hollow, and vice versa. This Order is being introduced because of carriageway reconstruction works which are anticipated to take until 20/07/2026 to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding or waiting in that part of Bonn Square at the junction with New Road / Castle Street / St Ebbes. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic, including buses is via Castle Street, Norfolk Street, Speedwell Street, St Aldates, and vice versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T17975/JP)

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of footpath. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. The alternative route will be signed locally.
