What is happening?

Notice is hereby given that Manchester City Council has made the CITY OF MANCHESTER (JONAS STREET, PRINCEDOM STREET, SEQUOIA STREET AND SIMISTER STREET, HARPURHEY) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND LOADING/UNLOADING) ORDER 2026 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to introduce:

NO WAITING AND NO LOADING/UNLOADING AT ANY TIME: Jonas Street, both sides from Princedom Street in a northerly direction for 5m. Princedom Street, (i) north side from 5m west of Simister Street in an easterly direction to 3m east of its Simister Street, (ii) north side from 5m west of Jonas Street in an easterly direction to 5m east of Jonas Street. Sequoia Street, south side from 5m west of Simister Street in an easterly direction to 5m east of Simister Street. Simister Street, (i) both sides from Princedom Street in a northerly direction for 5m, (ii) both sides from its junction with Sequoia Street in a southerly direction for 5m.

The Order was made on 17th June 2026 and will come into effect on 26th June 2026. A copy of the Order and the plan can be requested by emailing phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or inspected at the Customer Service Centre Ground Floor, Town Hall Extension, M60 2LA (for Sat. Nav. use M2 5DB) between the hours of 9am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

Anyone wishing to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may within 6 weeks from 17th June 2026 apply to the High Court for such purpose.
