Public Notices - Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14(1)

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton on 15 June 2026 made the following Order: The Sutton (Parking, Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No. 49) Order 2026 under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 (insofar as applicable) to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other powers thereunto enabling.

2. The general effect of the Order which will come into force 22 June 2026; is as follows:
(a) introduce/extend waiting restrictions operating ‘at any time’ (double yellow lines) in:-
(i) Balmoral Road, adjacent to No. 1 Donnington Road;
(ii) Braemar Road, outside Nos. 2 to 8;
(iii) Bridgewood Road, outside No. 79;
(iv) Hemingford Road, outside Nos. 13 to 16;
(v) Sparrow Farm Road, outside Nos. 71 to 73 and adjacent to No. 126 Woodstone Avenue;
(vi) Tudor Avenue, outside Nos.1 to 5 and Nos. 2 to 6; and
(vii) Wordsworth Drive, outside Mountford House and adjacent to No. 34 Hemingford Road and across the access to the rear of No. 17 Hemingford Road.

(b) introduce a length of waiting restrictions operating 8:00am to 9:30am and 3:00pm to 4:30pm Monday to Friday (single yellow line) in Sparrow Farm Road outside Nos. 81 to 85 and adjacent to No. 110 St Clair Drive.

Please be advised that the following proposals, which were originally published in the London Gazette on 19 September 2024; have been withdrawn.

(a) introduce/extend waiting restrictions operating ‘at any time’ (double yellow lines) in Newbolt Avenue, the green area adjacent to No. 45.
(b) introduce a Disabled Persons Parking Bay between 8:00am to 6:30pm Monday to Saturday maximum stay 3 hours no return within 2 hours, outside of these hours there is no maximum stay in Central Road outside No. 23.

3. From 22 June 2026, copies of the Order, of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Order and map-based schedules showing the location and the effects of the Order may be inspected as follows: -
(a) online at https://streets.appyway.com/sutton selecting the road name and restriction as detailed item 2 above;
(b) Council’s Civic Offices St Nicholas Way, Sutton, SM1 1EA; or
(c) by calling 020 8770 5000.

4. If any person wishes to question the validity of this Order or of any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of the said Act of 1984 or of any instrument made under the said Act of 1984 has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
