Overnight, from Friday 3rd July 2026 until Tuesday 7th July 2026, between the hours of 8pm and 5am (first 3 nights for drainage works, fourth night for carriageway resurfacing works)

WIDE WAY, MITCHAM; for its entire length

Overnight, from Tuesday 7th July 2026 until Friday 10th July 2026 inclusive, between the hours of 8pm and 5am (3 nights)

WEST BARNES LANE, WEST WIMBLEDON; between its junction with Coombe Lane and the railway bridge adjacent to No. 39 West Barnes Lane

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Section 14(1) - (Stirling Close) - (Temporary Restriction Of Traffic) Order 2026
1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate the installation of new foul and storm sewer connections in Stirling Close, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the said road.

2. During the works, no person would:-
(a) (i) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Stirling Close (eastern side), from a point 17 metres north of the northern kerb line of Windermere Road north eastward for a distance of 20 metres; or
(ii) cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purposes of loading or unloading, in the length of Stirling Close extending from a point 5 metres north of the junction with Windermere Road north eastwards for a distance of 50 metres; or
(iii) enter or proceed in the north-eastern footway of the length of Stirling Close specified in sub-paragraph (a)(i) above.

(b) (i) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Stirling Close (western side) from a point 17 metres north of the northern kerb line of Windermere Road north eastward for a distance of 20 metres; or
(ii) cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purposes of loading or unloading, in the length of Stirling Close specified in sub paragraph (a)(ii) above; or

(c) (i) enter or proceed in Stirling Close northeast arm (southern side) from the common boundary of Nos. 1 to 8 and Nos. 9 to 14 south eastwards for 17 metres;
(ii) or cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purposes of loading or unloading, in the length of Stirling Close north east arm (northern side) its entire length; or
(iii) enter or proceed in the southern footway in the length of Stirling Close specified in sub paragraph (c)(i) above.

3. Any designated parking place situated in the lengths of Stirling Close specified in paragraphs 2(a)(ii) 2(b)(ii) or 2(c)(ii) above would be suspended for the duration of the works.

4. The restrictions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5. Pedestrians affected by the footway closure should proceed using the footway opposite as directed by traffic signs.

6. Nothing in the Order would apply to: -
(a) any person or vehicle engaged in the execution of the said works; or
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or
(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited road or length of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works;

7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any waiting prohibition imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

8. The Order would come into operation on 8 July 2026, and it is anticipated that the works would be completed on 15 July 2026. However, the Order would remain in force for a maximum period of 3 months should further works be required.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14(1) - (Cavendish Road, SW19) - (Temporary Restriction Of Traffic) Order 2026
1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that because it is expedient for the purpose of facilitating a programme of gas mains works in Cavendish Road, SW19, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to continue in force the provisions of a temporary notice issued under section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 temporarily restricting traffic in Cavendish Road.

2. During the works, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to:-
(a) enter or proceed in Cavendish Road, SW19, from its junction with Norfolk Road to its junction with High Street, Colliers Wood;
(b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in the road or length of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above.

3. Any designated parking place situated in the road or length of road specified in paragraph 2(a) above shall be suspended when and where appropriate traffic signs are being displayed.

4. The restrictions and suspensions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. It is anticipated that the works will be carried out in 80 metre sections at a time.

5. Traffic affected by the road closure should proceed as directed by signage.

6. Nothing in this Notice will apply:-
(a) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
(b) to any vehicle engaged in the execution of the said works; or
(c) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or
(d) so as to prevent vehicular access to premises in or adjacent to the road or length of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) of this Notice, insofar as access is safe and reasonably practicable without interference with any works.

7. Except as provided in paragraph 6 above, if a person causes or permits a vehicle to wait in the length of restricted street specified in paragraph 2 of this Notice, at such times as traffic signs indicating that such waiting is prohibited are placed in that restricted street, then a contravention of this Notice and a parking contravention within Part 1 of Schedule 7 to the Traffic Management Act 2004 shall be deemed to have occurred.

8. Any vehicle that is in contravention of the temporary waiting restrictions at a time when these restrictions apply may be removed in accordance with the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

9. The Order will come into operation on Saturday 20th June 2026, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Sunday 5th July 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 3 months should further works be required.
