BRIDLEWAY 543049, OAK HOWE BRIDGE, LAKES (LANGDALES) PARISH TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS GIVEN that under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Lake District National Park Authority has made an order dated 18 June 2026. The effect of the order is to continue the prohibition of all public traffic except walkers for all purposes from proceeding over Bridleway 543049 at Oak Howe, Lakes (Langdales) Parish, between NY 3102 0590 and NY 3100 0583, due to the likelihood of danger resulting from the deterioration of a bridge beam.

The notice and plan showing the route concerned may be inspected during normal office or opening hours at the National Park Authority Offices, Wayfaring House, Murley Moss, Oxenholme Road, Kendal, LA9 7RL; at Westmorland & Furness Council Customer Services, South Lakeland House, Lowther Street, Kendal LA9 4DQ; and at Ambleside Post Office, Central Buildings, Market Cross, Ambleside, LA22 9BS; and online at www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/roadclosures.

The order will take effect on 18 June 2026 (when the current notice expires) and will continue in force for six months. If the works have not been completed during this period it may be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State.
