What is happening?
THE BOROUGH OF BLACKBURN WITH DARWEN
(SHAW STREET, BLACKBURN) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that the Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council intend to make the above Order under Section 14 (1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is to close Shaw Street for the following extent:
From the junction of Shaw Close to Nab Lane.
The closure is necessary for the following reason: Works to Repair Consequential Damage
The Order will come into force on 6th July 2026 and shall continue in force for a period of eighteen months or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 17th July 2026.
The alternative route for the affected traffic will be Montague Street, Barbara Castle Way, Johnston Street
Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times.
