CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(BEDFORD ROAD, OLD WARDEN)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Bedford Road, Old Warden outside number 149. This temporary closure is required to enable meter exchange works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 14 July 2026 between the hours of 0900-1600. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Southill Rd, Cople Rd, Northill Rd, Bedford Rd, Ickwell Rd, Northill Rd, Warden Rd, The Village, Bedford Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 14 July 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(WARDEN ROAD, ICKWELL)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Warden Road, Ickwell near Rest Harrow.

This temporary closure is required to enable pole testing work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 13th July 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Caldecote Rd, Ickwell Rd, Hitchin Rd, Hill Lane, Upper Caldecote and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 13 July 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(EVERTON ROAD, TEMPSFORD AND EVERTON HILL, EVERTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Everton Road, Tempsford and Everton Hill, Everton 20 metres either side of the level crossing.

This temporary closure is required to enable annual inspection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 12 July 2026 between the hours of 02.15 and 05.55am. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Tempsford Road, Sandy Road, Everton Road, Swaden, High Street, Bedford Road, Great North Road, Blunham Lane, C54 from Blunham Lane to Station Road, Church Street and Everton Road.

The Order will come into operation on 12 July 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of High Street, Stotfold between Hitchin Road and The Avenue.

This temporary closure is required to enable civils and resurfacing work with paco and lining to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 13 to 31 July 2026. Between the hours of 2000 and 0600hrs. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Hitchin Rd, A507, Norton Rd, Baldock Rd, High St and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 13 July 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(LONGFIELD ROAD, SANDY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Longfield Road, Sandy outside number 31.

This temporary closure is required to enable vxo construction work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 29 June to 1 July 2026. Between the hours of 0800 and 1800hrs. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via East Rd, St Neots Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 29 June 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

 CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(STONDON: PART OF FOOTPATH NO. 48)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Order made by Central Bedfordshire Council on 28 November 2025 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of Footpath No. 48, Stondon which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1589 3461 to OS GR TL 1605 3442 to OS GR TL 1607 3436 has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 10 December 2026.

This temporary closure is required as the bridge deck is unsafe and the bridge needs replacing. The closure is expected to take place from 11 June 2026 for up to six months.

There is no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation.

(CAMPTON AND CHICKSANDS: FOOTPATH NO. CA3)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Order made by Central Bedfordshire Council on 5 December 2025 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of Footpath No. CA3, Campton and Chicksands which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1311 3786 to OS GR TL 1332 3771 has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 18 June 2027.

This temporary closure is required as the bridge abutments are flood damaged and the bridge needs replacing. The closure is expected to take place from 19 June 2026 for up to twelve months. There is no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSED INSTALLATION OF A NEW CROSSING ON ARLESEY

ROAD, STOTFOLD AND UPGRADING OF AN EXISTING CROSSING ON STOTFOLD ROAD, ARLESEY

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 90A to 90I of the Highways Act 1980, under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers, propose to construct a new Parallel Crossing and upgrade an existing Zebra Crossing to a Parallel Crossing at the locations below. These proposals are part of a scheme to reduce traffic speeds and create a safer environment for all road users as well encourage active travel.

A Raised Parallel Crossing is proposed to be sited at the following location in Stotfold:-

1.  Arlesey Road, (The Access to Pixbrook Academy), at a point approximately 15 metres northeast of its junction with the main carriageway of Arlesey Road.

To upgrade the current Zebra Crossing to a Parallel Crossing at the following location in Arlesey:-

1.  Stotfold Road, at a point approximately 125 metres northwest of the north-western flank wall belonging to The Fox and Duck Public House.
