TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS
Derby City Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit use of the roads by traffic.

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON HOLCOMBE STREET, DERBY
WHEN: 12 July 2026 WHERE: Holcombe Street, from its junction with Harrington Street to McTurks Catering – for a distance of approximately 20 metres. REASON: Carriageway reinstatement. ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Holcombe Street – Harrington Street – Princes Street Coronation Street (and the same in the opposite direction)

TEMPORARY PARKING BAY SUSPENSION ORDER AND TEMPORARY FOOTWAY CLOSURE ORDER ON JOHN STREET, DERBY
WHEN: 06 July 2026 to 08 September 2026 WHERE: Suspend entire parking bays on John Street, from its junction with New Street to the end of the cul-de-sac. Close Footway on John Street, opposite its junction with New Street for a distance of approximately 70 metres. REASON: Section 278 access development works ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: N/A

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON SOMERBY WAY, DERBY
WHEN: 06 July 2026 to 08 July 2026 WHERE: Somerby Way, from its junction with Spindletree Drive to No 6 – a distance of approximately 20 metres. REASON: Telecom works ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Somerby Way – Bishops Drive – Spindletree Drive (and the same in the opposite direction)

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON WILMOT STREET, DERBY
WHEN: 05 July 2026 to 09 July 2026 WHERE: Wilmot Street, from its junction with Osmaston Road to its junction with Back Sitwell Street. REASON: 3 No S50 water connections. ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Osmaston Road – Lara Croft Way – Burton Road Roundabout – Babington Lane – Sitwell Street – Back Sitwell Street and Back Sitwell Street – Sitwell Street – Babington Lane – Gower Street – Green Lane – Burton Road Roundabout – Lara Croft Way – Osmaston Road

WHEN: 05 July 2026 to 05 July 2026 WHERE: Knightsbridge, close from its junction with Leytonstone Drive to its junction with Prince Charles Avenue. REASON: Telecom works ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Brackensdale Avenue – Lyttelton Street – Cheviot Street – Slack Lane – Uttoxeter Old Road – Ashbourne Road – Prince Charles Avenue

WHEN: 22 June 2026 to 07 July 2026 (20:00-6.00) Daily Overnight WHERE: Hope Street, one-way outbound closure from its junction with Traffic Street for a distance of approximately 45 metres. Close footway on Hope Street, between the Petrol station access for a distance of approximately 20 metres. REASON: Install EV charging station and associated works ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Road Diversion: Hope Street – Liversage Road – London Road Footway: use opposite footway

TEMPORARY BUS LANE SUSPENSION ORDER AND TEMPORARY FOOTWAY CLOSURE ORDER ON TRAFFIC STREET, DERBY
WHEN: 22 June 2026 to 07 July 2026 (20:00-06.00) Daily Overnight WHERE: Traffic Street, suspend the entire inbound bus lane Close footway on Traffic Street, from its junction with Hope Street to its junction with Petrol Station exit, for a distance of approximately 20 metres. REASON: Install EV charging station and associated works ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Use signalised pedestrian crossing as shown on-site.

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON COLVILLE STREET, DERBY
WHEN: 29 June 2026 to 17 July 2026 WHERE: Colville Street, from its junction with Shaw Green to No 29 Residents private car park. REASON: Repair Drainage ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Colville street – Ashbourne Street – Shaw Street – Shaws Green (and the same in the opposite direction)

TEMPORARY FOOTWAY AND ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON PEAR TREE STREET, DERBY
WHEN: 04 July 2026 to 19 July 2026 WHERE: Phase 1: Pear Tree Street, from outside number 64 to its junction with Princes Street – a distance of approximately 40 metres Phase 2: Pear Tree Street, from outside number 36 to its junction with Princes Street -– a distance of approximately 25 metres. Close one footway at one time only – at its junction with Princes Street. REASON: Section 278 carriageway and footway work ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Phase 1: Princes Street – Harrington Street – Portland Street – Pear Tree Street and the same in the opposite direction Phase 2: Princes Street – Harrington Street – Holcombe Street – Pear Tree Street and the same in the opposite direction.

WHEN: 04 July 2026 to 19 July 2026 WHERE: Phase 1 Harrington Street, from adjacent to number 164 to its junction with Princes Street – a distance of approximately 25 metres Phase 2 Harrington Street, from adjacent to Sikh Gurdwara Car Park to its junction with Princes Street – a distance of approximately 23 metres Close one footway at one time only – at its junction with Princes Street. REASON: Section 278 carriageway and footway works ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Phase 1 Princes Street – Pear Tree Street – Holcombe Street – Harrington Street and the same in the opposite direction Phase 2 Princes Street – Pear Tree Street – Portland Street – Harrington Street and the same in the opposite direction.
