What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U6196 Burgh Hill, Hurst Green) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026 No.2
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Burgh Hill – from the junction with A265 Station Road to the junction with A265 High Street.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A265 Haremere Hill.
The Order commences 25 June 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 25 and 29 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C19 Bodiam Road, Hurst Green) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Bodiam Road – from the junction with A21 London Road to the junction with C19 The Stage.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A21(T) London Road – A229 Coopers Corner – C90 Merriments Lane – C90 Merriments Lane (KCC) – B2244 Hastings Road (KCC) – B2244 Hawkhurst Road – C19 Bodiam Road, The Stage and vice versa.
The Order commences 22 June 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 22 and 24 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2099 Ticehurst Road/Pashley Road, Hurst Green/Ticehurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Ticehurst Road/Pashley Road – from the junction with A21(T) Hastings Road to the junction with B2087 Lower Platts.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2087 Lower Platts, Dale Hill, Union Street, High Street – A21(T) Hastings Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 7 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 7 and 8 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C408 Dewhurst Lane, Wadhurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Dewhurst Lane – from the junction with B2099 Station Hill to the junction with C408 Higham Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C408 Higham Lane – B2169 Bayham Road – C81 Bells Yew Green Road, The Green – A267 Mayfield Road – B2099 Wadhurst Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 6 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 6 and 10 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Birchetts Green Lane – from the junction with U6192 Burnt Lodge Lane to the junction with U6193 Wards Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6193 Wards Lane – B2099 High Street – U6192 Burnt Lodge Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 6 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 6 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.
