PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2026
On the 22nd June 2026, Birmingham City Council confirmed the above Order made under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to EXTINGUISH that part of the public footpath commencing on Booths Lane 22 metres west of its junction with Woodland Mews marked A on the Order Map and proceeding in a west south westerly direction for a length of 102 metres to its end marked B on the Order Map on the ground that it is not needed for public use.
Informative: A new public footpath has been dedicated commencing at the back of the verge on Booths Lane 21 metres east south east of Booths Farm Close marked C on the Order Map and proceeding in a south south westerly direction for 33 metres then continuing in a south westerly direction for 55 metres to its end marked B on the Order Map.
A copy of the Order as confirmed and the Order Map may be seen free of charge at Tower Hill Library, Tower Hill, Birmingham, B42 1LG between the hours of 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm on Tuesdays and Fridays and between the hours of 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 6pm on Thursdays. Copies of the Order and the Order Map may be purchased at a reasonable charge.
The Order comes into force on the 30th June 2026 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from the 22nd June 2026, make an application to the High Court.
