Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U5904 Weston Road, Hinderclay from 80 metres south of High Street for 40 metres southbound to facilitate a stoptap replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Weston Road, Chapel Road, Wattisfield Road, High Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 29/06/2026 - 01/07/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (BOROUGH OF IPSWICH) (KINGSFIELD AVENUE) (U3604) (REVOCATION OF PROHIBITION OF CYCLING) ORDER 202-

Suffolk County Council proposes to make the above order under Sections 1 and 2, 2(1) to (3) and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The effect of this will be to revoke the existing prohibition of cycling on Kingsfield Avenue (U3604) to Valley Road (A1214), for a distance of approximately 60 metres, which would permit cycling along this road.

Copies of the draft order, map showing the roads affected and the Council’s reasons for the proposals, may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday; also at Ipswich Library, Northgate Street, Ipswich, IP1 3DE: 9am - 6pm on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9am - 7pm on Tuesday and Friday, 8.30am - 5pm on Saturday and 10am - 4pm on Sunday.
