READING BOROUGH COUNCIL
(STATION ROAD) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2026
Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily suspend the loading bay outside 29 Station Road and introduce a no stopping, waiting, loading or unloading at any time restriction within the length of Station Road from Garrard Street to outside and opposite 7 Station Road. The Order will come into force from 19:00hrs on 23:00hrs on 22 June 2026. The provisions of the Order shall only apply on the above date when indicated on site by the presence of appropriate traffic signs in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. Should the works take longer than expected the restriction will remain in force for up to 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The Order is necessary for crane works at 18-20 Station Road.
(FOOTPATH 1 (PART)) (TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER#2 2026
Reading Borough Council has made the above Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The effect of the Order is to close Footpath 1, Thames Path between Lynmouth Road and Christchurch Bridge for a distance of approximately 90m. The purpose of the closure is to enable construction of a storm water outlet from the proposed development. The Order will come into operation from 6-10 July 2026. Should the works take longer than expected the restriction will continue in force until the works are completed with a maximum duration of up to 6 months unless a direction is given under Section 15(5) of the 1984 Act. The proposed diversion route is via Lynmouth Road to Vastern Road (approx. 160m), continuing along Vastern Road in an easterly direction (approx. 175m) to Norman Place then following the diversion signs along Norman Place in a northerly direction (approx. 110m) to rejoin the Thames Path. Access to Christchurch Bridge will be retained from the eastside of the bridge only.
(ST JOHN’S HILL) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2026
Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily suspend the parking bays outside numbers 12-16 St John’s Hill and impose a no stopping, waiting, loading or unloading at any time restriction within those bays. The Order will come into force from 23-25 June 2026. Should the works take longer than expected the restriction will remain in force for up to 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The Order is necessary to facilitate repairs to water infrastructure.
(WESTFIELD ROAD) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2026
Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily suspend the parking bays on Westfield Road outside numbers 86-96 for approx. 24m and impose a no stopping, waiting, loading/unloading at any time restriction within those bays. The Order will come into force from 23-25 June 2026. Should the works take longer than expected the restriction will remain in force for up to 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The Order is necessary to facilitate repairs to water infrastructure.
(ELGAR RD SOUTH) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026
Reading Borough Council intends to make an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily close 224-222 Elgar Rd South. If made, the Order will come into force 7-13 July 2026. Should the works take longer than expected the restriction will remain in force for up to 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The Order is necessary to facilitate connection works.
(GRANGE AVENUE) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2026
Reading Borough Council intends to make an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily suspend the parking bays outside 13-21 Grange Avenue. If made, the Order will come into force from 6-8 July 2026. Should the works take longer than expected the restriction will remain in force until the works are completed with a maximum order duration of 18 months. The Order is necessary to facilitate pipe repairs within the footway.
